Concept Personnel mobile website
We have recently scored a first for the region by developing a fully optimised mobile version of a website for our client, Concept Personnel, who are a recruitment company based in Newcastle and Edinburgh. The new mobile site will help job seekers keep in touch with the latest vacancies using their smartphones.
Through web analytics we had identified that there had been a significant rise in the number of mobile browser visits to their website. It was also noted that these visits were brief with few page impressions indicating an unsatisfactory experience for the user.
We suggested that Concept should "mobilise" their web presence with templates that would utilise the functionality of their website but maximise the potential to the smartphone audience.
We produced a streamlined mobile website to work seamlessly on smartphones. The designs took into account the demands of mobile browsing and focused on the primary usages of the "desktop" site. Users can now view a list of the latest jobs across all categories, or search by job, keyword, or category. They can also directly apply for vacancies, and sign up for news and social media feeds.

Elite Management and Lettings
We were approached by Elite Management, based in Durham, to give their website a new lease of life. There were many areas of concern including the ability to regularly update property information which would then be optimised for all the search engines. The client also wanted similar content features and functionality that appeared on Rightmove.co.uk, a popular site which the client regularly advertises with.
The new site now boasts a fully integrated content management system (CMS) which amongst other features, allows the client to add detailed property pages with dedicated photo-galleries, and road and street view maps to help potential tenants locate the Elite properties which the client currently lets.
To aid search engine optimisation we removed an expansive flash animation and replaced it across the site with attractive and engaging property pages which became the central focus of the site.
The site was launched recently and apart from providing a considerable improvement for the brand, it reflects our knowledge and experience of building property management websites.

Rona Kerr Accountants
Rona Kerr is an experienced and well respected chartered accountant who recently established her own practice. She approached Industrial Strength to design and build her a web presence which would launch and position her brand within the marketplace
The new site had to reflect her brand personality of providing a professional and approachable service to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
With it's soft corners and bright, vibrant colours the site reflects the important characteristics of the brand and stands apart from some of the more conservative-looking accountancy websites. The use of a Twitter feed allows Rona's clients an insight into her working practice which further personalises the online experience.
The site is a successful blend of Rona Kerr Accountants personality and professionalism and has been very well received by Rona and her clients alike.

Simply Bows and Chair Covers
Growing franchise Simply Bows and Chair Covers approached us to freshen up their web presence and add a much needed CMS which could cater to the ever increasing list of franchisees.
Simply Bows and Chair Covers manufacture high quality chair covers and accessories to hire for weddings and events that require that special touch. Run by Sarah Pittendrigh (Managing Director) and a professional team of event and wedding specialists with over 20 years experience in the industry and working on many weddings and high profile corporate gatherings in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK.
Their website was in need of some of the care and attention the team bring to the events they accessorise and they asked Industrial Strength to take on the role of managing their web presence and add the much needed improvements. Amoungst those improvements was a CMS (content management system) so each franchise could keep their sites up to date.
Since Industrial Strength completed this first stage of development, two more franchises have been added and entrepreneur Sarah is in talks to add many more throughout the year, it will be facinating to watch this frachise grow.
The web prescence is now well groomed and improved just like the events they cater for.

Writers’ Block Wordpress site
Exciting creative writing and performance group Writers’ Block North East required an easy and affordable solution to promote their Teeside based workshops and events.
Writers’ Block act as a networking facility for writers, performers, artists, musicians, photographers, film makers, animators, comedians, radio producers, illustrators, editors, designers in the North East of England. In short it is a creative hub for people who make stuff and people who'd like to make stuff.
Their aim to bring creative people together, teach new skills, encourage collaborations, introduce people to industry professionals, and assist in getting work in to print, on film, and performed to an audience. It’s an incredible scheme.
Writers’ Block is spearheaded by the hugely energetic Laura Degnan(Director, in-house workshop leader and project manager) and James Harris (Project manager and in-house workshop leader) whose boundless energy and dedication has facilitated the production of 11 short films, 8 plays, 3 radio plays, 2 animations and a ‘zine.
Industrial Strength were asked to develop a website capable of delivering the workshop and events listings and a calendar system to manage them as well as delivering all the news, videos and competitions that were to be run.
We developed the site using Wordpress which allowed Writers’ Block a maximum return on their investment, delivering everything they’d planned for whilst not challenging their budget. Whilst the site is still new it is already attracting use from the extended network of Writers’ Block associates and devotees and the mailing list numbers are steadily rising week on week.
